About Us
Common Ground Construction is owned by Scott Perry, Cheryl Perry, and Barbara Scoggins—all long-time residents of Whatcom County.
We are a proud member of Sustainable Connections and support local, independently owned businesses as much as possible in sourcing the products we use. We also offer discounts for local, independently owned farms.
Scott Perry attended Washington State University for Construction Management and has worked in the local pole building industry for over 15 years. Scott is a partner and the Construction Director, handling sales and manages the construction field work. 
Cheryl Perry also attended Washington State University and earned a Bachelor in Architectural Studies and a Bachelor of Architecture cum laude with honors. She has over 7 years of experience designing and permitting post frame structures with local and regional jurisdictions. Cheryl is a partner and the Creative Director, handling sales, estimating, design and permitting. 
Barbara Scoggins attended Brazous Business College and Western Washington University. She has an extensive background in business management and has recently joined our partnership after owning and running another construction company for twelve years. Barbara is a partner and the Financial Director, handling sales and manages all financial matters.
Arcadia Birklid is another cougar graduate. She received a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture cum laude from Washington State University. She has a wide variety of experience from high-end residential landscape design-build to commercial & public landscape design work in the greater Seattle area, and now post frame construction. As Project Coordinator, she is involved in every aspect of the job from estimating, design, drafting, permitting, materials and office administration.
